	Wilfred van der Donk Wins 2008 SCS Teaching Excellence Award Wilfred van der Donk has won the 2008 SCS Teaching Excellence Award. Only three awards were granted this year throughout SCS.
	Chad Rienstra Wins 2008 SCS Teaching Award Chad Rienstra has been selected by the SCS Committee on Staff to receive the 2008 SCS Teaching Award.
	Huimin Zhao Receives the 2008 Young Investigator Award Huimin Zhao has been selected as a recipient of the 2008 Young Investigator Award from the Division of Biochemical Technology of the American Chemical Society.

Mark Chen (White Group) Wins the 2008 Roche Excellence in Chemistry Award Mark Chen, a fourth year graduate student in the White Group, has recently been awarded the 2008 Excellence in Chemistry Award from Roche Pharmaceuticals.
Dan Palacios (Burke Group) Wins 2008 Robert M. Scarborough Graduate Award Dan Palacios, a student in the Burke Group, has been selected to receive the 2008 Robert M. Scarborough Award from the Division of Medicinal Chemistry of the American Chemical Society.
Tom Anderson (Burke Group) Receives the Ruth L. Kirchstein Fellowship Tom Anderson, a student in the Burke Group, has just received the Ruth L. Kirchstein Predoctoral MD/PhD Fellowship from the NIH.

	White Wins 2008-2009 Pfizer Award for Creativity in Organic Chemistry Professor Christina White was awarded the 2008-2009 Pfizer Award for Creativity in Organic Chemistry.
	Hergenrother Awarded 2008 Eli Lilly Award Professor Paul J. Hergenrother of the Department of Chemistry at the University of Illinois was recently chosen to receive the 2008 Eli Lilly Award in Biological Chemistry.
	Hartwig Wins 2008 Rylander Award Professor John Hartwig of the Department of Chemistry at the University of Illinois was recently chosen to receive the 2008 Paul N. Rylander Award from the Organic Reactions Catalysis Society.

	Nuzzo Selected as 2007 AVS Fellow Professor Ralph Nuzzo of the Department of Chemistry at the University of Illinois was recently selected as a 2007 Fellow of AVS.
	Silverman Selected as 2007 AAAS Fellow Professor Scott Silverman of the Department of Chemistry at the University of Illinois was recently selected as a 2007 Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
	White Wins 2007 Eli Lilly Grantee Award Professor Christina White's 2007 Eli Lilly Grantee Award will include an unrestricted research grant, and the opportunity to deliver a lecture at the 14th biennial Lilly Grantee Symposium.
